In 1997 while still raising her children, she relinquished her corporate job as a paralegal to assume the role of full time family manager and caregiver for her mother; and both her maternal grandparents. Venus attests that through God’s grace, her family has emerged victoriously through a myriad of heartaches, tests and trials, which prepared her to accept the assignment to serve as Christian Marriage and Family Consultant.

In her workshops, books and blogs, she uses real life experiences, humor, and the Word of God to edify the body of Christ, evangelize to the unchurched and to entertain the masses. Her workshop titles include “Living Well, the Sweetest Revenge” (Conquering Bitterness After Breakup), “Can You Hear Me Now?” (Communication in Marriage)” and “Your Slip is Showing” (An Empowerment Workshop for Women). Venus is the author of the novel Brown Paper Bag, and an eBook entitled Pearls of Wisdom for Wives: How to Have a Joyfully-Ever-After Life.

Venus is married to Jerome Theus and has five children and 15 grandchildren. She and her husband serve as the Co-Directors of the marriage and family ministry at their home church, Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan.
